Managing your tool
Your tool's configuration — its name, its three URLs, its description and logo — lives in the dashboard, on your tool's Settings tab. That is the only place to change it.
There is no longer a management API. GET/PATCH /ltiaas/v1/apps/me, the apps/me/locations endpoints, and POST /apps/me/rotate-key have all been removed, along with the API key's power to call them. Automation pointed at those paths gets a 404. See the changelog.
What your API key does
One thing: it lets your server publish a grade when no launch session is available.
It is the tool's runtime credential, not the builder's, and it is deliberately confined to that. It cannot read your tool, change your tool, add or remove locations, rotate itself, or reach anything else — so a leaked key exposes grade submission in courses your tool is already placed in, and nothing more.
Everything else is done as you, signed into the dashboard.
Changing your configuration
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Name, description, logo | Settings tab |
| Callback, Provisioning, and Locations URLs | Settings tab |
| Rotating your API key | Settings tab — see rotating your key |
Tool status (draft → active) | Platform team only — see tool status |
| Team members | Platform team only — see team members |
Changes take effect immediately, including for placements instructors have already made.
Deployment automation. Repointing your callback URL as part of a release used to be a PATCH away. It isn't now — change it on the Settings tab. If that's a real obstacle to how you ship, tell the MyEducator team; the need is worth hearing about.
Locations are not configured here
Voshi asks your tool for its destinations at placement time, so your catalog lives in your tool and there is nothing to keep in sync. Build a locations endpoint.
For a self-hosted tool the dashboard's Locations tab is read-only: it lists the locations Voshi has recorded so far, which is the ones instructors have actually placed. A location appears there the first time someone places it, not when you start offering it. It's a record of what has been seen, not the list instructors choose from.
